Overview
In a continuing effort to improve water services to our customers, Concord Public Works (CPW) initiated a comprehensive water meter replacement project. The Water Meter Replacement Project is an essential initiative aimed at upgrading and modernizing the water metering infrastructure within our community. This project seeks to enhance the accuracy of water billing, improve customer service, and promote water conservation.  By replacing aging and outdated meters with advanced technology, Concord Public Works can ensure more reliable and efficient water usage monitoring.

Meter Exchange Process

Water & Sewer Department

  • Meter Exchange Appointments can be made by phone or online sign up
  • Residents will be contacted by phone, email, mail or a door hanger when we are planning to work in your neighborhood
  • CPW Operations Crew will need entry to replace the existing meter inside your home or business
  • Appointments generally take between 20-40 minutes
  • There will be a brief water interruption while the meter is being replaced
  • A new water meter reading device will replace the existing device on the outside of your property

Follow up appointments if necessary within 5-30 days

In the event of a town water/sewer emergency, an appointment may need to be rescheduled

Resident  

  • An owner or representative over the age of 18 must be present to allow entry for the meter exchange.
  • The current meter must be easily accessible. Please clear all items within 3' of the meter per 
    Rules & Regulations (Article III, Section 4.4)

Please notify the CPW office 24 hours in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment

This is a no-cost, mandatory upgrade of water meters to modernize our system.
This effort will improve billing accuracy, enhance customer service, and promote water conservation. The new technology provides reliable performance and efficient monitoring of water use.

Monday - Thursday 7:00 am - 2:00 pm and Friday 7:00 am - 11:00 am
