Plastic Bag Reduction Bylaw

Background

At the April 2015 Town Meeting, Concord residents voted to enact a plastic bag reduction bylaw which bans the use of thin-film, single-use checkout bags at Concord retail stores and grocery stores. The intent of the plastic bag reduction bylaw is to prevent environmental damage caused by thin-film plastic checkout bags. The bylaw encourages the use of reusable bags, and went into effect January 1, 2016.
