Would you like your signed artwork to be displayed on a painted traffic signal box in our business district?
The West Concord Junction Cultural District Committee is pleased to announce the launch of a public art project entitled Outside the Box that will add color and fun to our business district.
Area artists ages eighteen and older are invited to submit original designs that reflect the spirit of West Concord. The Committee will choose designs by three different artists, each to paint one of three traffic light signal boxes within the district. The boxes will be primed and ready to paint by June 1. During the month of June, artists are asked to complete their designs within 14 days.
In addition to the honor of having their artwork on display for three years or more, each artist will receive a stipend of $700, which will include the cost of supplies.
An application can be found at:
Outside the Box Application Packet
Applications must be received by March 25 at 4:00 PM. Applicants will be notified of the Committee’s decision by April 2. For more information, write to PublicArtCall@concordma.gov.
Outside the Box is funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
