Town Offices are Closed
In order to help protect our Town employees and the community, the Town is only operating essential services until further notice and all municipal buildings are closed to the public. Public Safety, public works, public health services and application filings are not impacted by this limited closure. If you are looking for information or have a question related to board/committee or department operations, please don’t leave a voice message, but email the Planning Division or visit the Town’s website at www.concordma.gov. Zoning Board of Appeals applications will be accepted via a Drop Box outside the front door of the Department of Planning and Land Management building at 141 Keyes Road. Please submit two paper copies of all applications and supporting documentation along with the Community Newspaper form and a check made out to the Town of Concord with the appropriate application fee. Please note that roll plans are not able to be accepted at this time and should be submitted via USB/flash drive. Please place drive in an envelope with the address or project clearly noted. Application materials smaller than 10MB may be emailed to Planning@concordma.gov . Applications
- ex: A meeting held in March will have an application due date on the first business day in February.
- Files can be emailed if size allows, or you can submit a cd or flash drive containing the documentation.
- Please plan to drop off your application and supporting documentation for review by the Building Commissioner at least 2 weeks prior to the submission deadline.

Board of Appeals Charge
The Board of Appeals consists of 3 members and 3 associate members, appointed for 3-year, staggered terms by the Select Board. Associate members serve on the Board when regular members are absent or cannot serve. The Board is established pursuant to the provisions of Mass General Law Ch. 40, Sec. 30, MGL Ch. 40A, Sec. 14 and MGL Ch. 41, Sec. 81Z and is designated as the Zoning Board of Appeals required by MGL Ch. 40A, Sec. 12. The Board acts on Variances and Special Permits as prescribed by the Zoning Bylaw and MGL Ch. 40A, Ch. 40B, and Section 81Y through 81BB of Ch. 41. The Board hears and decides appeals by any person aggrieved by an inability to obtain a permit or enforcement action from the Building Inspector.
