[ARCHIVED] Traffic/Construction Advisory - Cambridge Turnpike - Nov. 18, 2019

Please be advised that paving operations will commence on Cambridge Turnpike and on Sandy Pond Road on Thursday, November 21st, 2019 at 7:00 AM and continue on Friday November 22nd, 2019 weather permitting.

This work entails placing the first course of asphalt on Cambridge Turnpike from Hawthorne Lane to 571 Cambridge Turnpike in preparation for the winter season.

On Sandy Pond Road from the intersection with Cambridge Turnpike to 144 Sandy Pond Road, a temporary layer of asphalt will be placed in order to improve the condition of the existing road prior to winter shutdown. In the next several years the Town’s staff will design a full reconstruction of Sandy Pond Road.

Heavy equipment will be present and operational. Access to all properties will be maintained, however, please expect minor delays near construction crews performing the work.

In addition, for those driveways needing to be cut back and aprons repaved, that work will occur after the roadway is paved, as it will allow the contractor to ensure proper pitching and drainage of the apron where it matches the new edge of roadway. For more information, please contact the CPW- Engineering Division 978-318-3210.
