Come celebrate ArtWeek in West Concord as West Concord Junction goes Bluegrass! The West Concord Junction (WCJ) Cultural District Committee with partners the Concord Conservatory of Music and ART GYM, are serving up a variety of family-friendly activities the week of April 27th through May 4th, culminating in a Bluegrass concert with local musicians (a.k.a. the Bluegrass Band Scramble) on Saturday, May 4th at the Concord Conservatory of Music and the reveal of the ArtScramble artwork beginning at 3:45 p.m. (1317 Main Street).
ArtWeek is a statewide cultural festival presented by Highland Street Foundation and produced by the Boch Center. ArtWeek works to spotlight how the creative economy is thriving in Massachusetts by offering unique and affordable neighborhood-based events that provide increased access to art, culture and creativity.
In that spirit, ArtWeek “West Concord Junction goes Bluegrass” is a collaborative endeavor of the WCJ Cultural District Committee, Concord Conservatory of Music, ART GYM and local businesses, including Three Stones Gallery, Reflections Consignment Boutique, Reasons to be Cheerful, Saltbox Kitchen, as well as the Fowler Library.
On Thursday May 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, come to Nashoba Brook Bakery for ART JAM. The Concord Flower Shop will provide a still life arrangement and art supplies will be provided by ART GYM, along with a serving of music and Nashoba Brook Bakery's evening menu.
Throughout the week, plan to stop by the Fowler Library to learn more about Bluegrass music and its roots, stop by Reasons to be Cheerful for a scoop of “Fingerpickin’ Good” ice cream or order a “Ben’s Banjo”, a bourbon-based cocktail, at Saltbox Kitchen. And, check out the cowboy boots that will be featured in the window at Reflections Consignment Boutique.
