[ARCHIVED] Traffic Advisory - New 25 MPH Speed Limit in Effect 4/4/19

Traffic Advisory – New 25 MPH “Thickly Settled” Town of Concord Speed Limit in Effect Beginning  - April 4, 2019

Please be advised that the Town of Concord will now display new 25 MPH Speed Limit signs at all Town entrances beginning on Thursday, April 4, 2019.  Following Town Meeting Acceptance of this MGL in 2018, the Concord Select Board unanimously voted to adopt the establishment of 25 MPH speed limits in “Thickly Settled” areas or “Business Districts” throughout Concord on December 17th, 2018.

This 25 MPH designation will be the default speed limit in lieu of any existing posted speed limit, as allowed by MGL c.90, section 17C.

Please also note: the 25 MPH “Thickly Settled” Speed Limit does not supersede speed limits on roadways with previously adopted special speed regulations which remain in effect as posted.   For additional detailed information, please visit the State’s website concerning this matter by clicking here or contact Concord Public Works - Engineering Division 978-318-3210.
