[ARCHIVED] Water Service Interruption - Potter Street

At approximately 11:50 this morning, January 3, 2019, the CPW Water and Sewer Division received a report of a water main break on Potter Street. The leak has been isolated and crews are actively responding to the incident. It is estimated that it will take 6 hours to repair the leak. We anticipate water service to approximately a dozen customers on Potter St will be interrupted (i.e. without water) until the leak is repaired. We will provide an update as soon as possible.

Even if you are not in the immediate area of the water main break, it is possible that you may experience some discolored water. If you do experience discolored water, turn the water off and wait 15 minutes. Then, run the cold water at the tap closest to where the water comes into the building for 5 minutes. The water coming into your home should be clear. If the discoloration persists, repeat the process as needed.

If you have persistent discoloration, please give the CPW Water and Sewer Division a call at 978-318-3250.
