The newly formed Polystyrene Education and Outreach Committee is looking for volunteers. The committee is tasked with developing decision-making tools for the implementation of a ban on polystyrene products. At the 2016 Annual Town Meeting, citizens voted to support a ban on the sale and distribution of these products from retail institutions in Concord. This ban goes into effect in January of 2017 and the Town is looking for your help to make the rollout smooth and equitable.
“This is a great opportunity for citizens to volunteer for a specific task that will help the Town ensure we are meeting the intent of the voters with this bylaw,” said Alice Kaufman, Select Board liaison to the Board of Health. ”I expect the committee’s work to be substantially complete by February of next year.”
