[ARCHIVED] CPW Outdoor Irrigation Outreach Program Survey

The Concord Public Works Water Division has partnered with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) and the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute on a pilot outreach campaign designed to promote behavior change among residents that rely heavily on municipal water for outdoor irrigation.  Staff will serve on a MassDEP advisory board to guide and customize this messaging campaign, to be developed by a third party social marketing research group (Action Research). This effort will help advance Concord’s water resource sustainability interests while informing CPW’s Water Division as to potential messaging tools that could potentially be incorporated into an anticipated smart metering initiative.

Representatives from Action research will be in Concord at various locations during March 2018 conducting a brief survey of outdoor watering knowledge and practices in an effort to develop education and outreach materials to meet the Town’s goals around water conservation. No individual names will be collected during the course of the survey nor will any identifying information be listed in the report.
