“Opiates, Vaping, Addiction and Our Kids:

A Primer for Parents”

In this free program for adults, participants will learn:

  • How addiction works in the adolescent brain (including addiction to e-cigs) and the risks addiction poses;
  • How parents can talk to their children about drugs;
  • Warning signs;
  • How to get help.

 

Jon Cohan CADC has over 10 years of experience in the substance use disorder and mental health fields. He practices addiction treatment and family therapy in Concord and also works at Right Turn in Watertown as a Family Addictions counselor. There he conducts workshops to help family members begin their own recovery.
As co-host for "The Right Mind Media Podcast", Jon has interviewed Mayor Marty Walsh, Governor Charlie Baker, and many other notable guests on the subject of addiction, recovery, and mental health issues. He has won two National Media Awards in 2014 and 2015 from the National Association of Social Workers. He sits on the Advisory Board of Middlesex Community College’s Addiction Counseling Program. Jon has appeared as a guest on Fox 25 news and WGBH’s “Greater Boston” to speak about the opiate crisis in New England.
