[ARCHIVED] Mothers Out Front Gas Leak Identification Sign Posting

The group Mothers Out Front will be posting signs this coming weekend in an effort to alert people to the 115 known gas leaks in town. The Town Manager, Chris Whelan, provided approval for flyers to be attached to utility poles in the public right-of-way near where these gas leaks are. The tagging is to raise awareness of the issue and bring attention to the November 8th Gas Leak Forum at the First Parish Church.  The Town of Concord supports the effort to raise awareness of gas leaks in the area and encourages citizens to attend the Mother’s Out Front forum to learn more.

Gas leaks are primarily comprised of methane, which is known to kill trees, provoke respiratory issues (like asthma), and warms the planet by 86 times as much as CO2. In extreme circumstances, it can explode. For more information on gas leaks effect on the environment please visit this link.
