The Select Board and School Committee invite the public to attend an Open House on Saturday, October 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., to celebrate the completion of the new School Transportation Facility which was put into service in August, and the large solar array on the same property, which was put into service in November of last year.
The bus facility is home to the 42 buses operated by the Concord Public Schools and Concord-Carlisle Regional School District. The new facility provides quality working space for the three mechanics who keep the school buses in good working order. The building includes equipment for bus fueling, washing and repair, as well as a charging station for the new electric bus. The solar installation managed by the Concord Municipal Light Plant covers about 15 acres of the site and is rated at 4.5 megawatts.
Come see these new facilities, located on the former W.R. Grace property off Knox Trail. Refreshments will be served.
