[ARCHIVED] Preliminary Notice - Roadway Closure - Comm. Ave. 9/29 - 10/2

Preliminary Notice - Roadway Closure – Commonwealth Ave at the RR Crossing. - Friday Sept. 29th to Monday October 2nd.

The MBTA and Keolis Commuter Services have recently approached the town with a proposal to reconstruct the crossing located on Commonwealth Ave. As currently proposed, this entails removing existing pavement, replacing rail road infrastructure as needed and repaving the crossing. In order to complete this work as quickly and safely as possible, a roadway closure is anticipated. Tentatively, this is scheduled to begin on Friday, September 29th at 8:00 PM and end by Monday, October 2nd at 5:00 AM. This will be a full roadway closure for that entire duration. The town is working with MBTA/Keolis on a traffic mitigation plan and detour. The town’s first responders are also involved in these coordination efforts.

Please note that this is a preliminary notice. More information will be provided as it becomes available.

Concord Police and MBTA Transit Police traffic details will be in place and motorists are asked to proceed with caution and/or seek alternate routes when possible. Any questions can be directed to Concord Public Works at (978) 318-3206.
