[ARCHIVED] Honor Box To Be Removed From West Concord Commuter Lot

After more than a year since the Town introduced the PayByPhone service for drivers using the West Concord commuter parking lot, the bright yellow Honor Box near the West Concord Depot is going to be removed. PayByPhone will be the only method of payment for parking in the 114 parking spaces on State-owned land at the West Concord commuter parking lot beginning May 1st, 2017.

Approximately 98% of the people now parking in the West Concord commuter lot are using the app or the mobile web (PayByPhone.com) to pay. Using PayByPhone is faster and less hassle - no more fishing for exact change or waiting in line in the rain, snow and freezing cold to pay. PayByPhone also provides customers with the option of getting an electronic receipt for each parking session providing them with a record of their transaction to use for business expenses and other purposes.

Commuters/drivers can either download the free app onto your smartphone from the Google Play or the Apple App Store.

If you do not have a smartphone, you can use the service from your mobile phone via your mobile web browser. You can also register online at https://paybyphone.com/ to pay in advance from your home computer, if desired.

Payment by PayByPhone will be license-plate based, which means space numbers will no longer be necessary.

Concord residents who regularly use the West Concord commuter parking lot will continue to able to apply for a semi-annual parking permit for 63 of the 105 spaces on Town-owned land at the lot. For more information about Concord resident permits for the West Concord MBTA commuter parking lot, please visit the Town’s website at: http://www.concordma.gov/584/West-Concord-Station
