[ARCHIVED] Motor Vehicle Excise Bills Mailed

Over 14,600 annual motor vehicle excise tax bills have been mailed to owners of motor vehicles registered in Concord as of January 1, 2017.  The billing address is based upon the registration address provided by the owner to the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

The motor vehicle excise tax is assessed at a rate of $25.00 per thousand dollars of taxable value.  The value of the motor vehicle is set by the Registry of Motor Vehicles according to the N.A.D.A. Blue Book.  It is not based on the actual sales price or current market value.  The Registry provides the necessary data to the Town for bill issuance.

The due date of this first commitment for calendar year 2017 is March 8, 2017.

Bills not paid by the due date will be subject to additional charges.

If you have not received an excise tax bill for a vehicle that was registered as of January 1, 2017,  please contact the Assessor’s Office at 978-318-3070.

Owners of vehicles registered in late calendar year 2016 or after January 1, 2017 will be issued excise tax bills as information is forwarded to the Town from the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
