[ARCHIVED] Community Alert - Phone Call Scam

The Concord Police Department is aware of a phone call scam, soliciting funds on behalf of the department. The caller states that there are federal warrants and citations outstanding and if they wish to avoid being arrested, they need to send $5,000 in cash or gift cards to different addresses throughout the country. The department also received reports from residents reporting the caller identified themselves as actual employees who work at the Concord Police Department. The telephone numbers that are calling our residents are not legitimate phone numbers and the calls are a SCAM. Residents are advised to ignore the caller, hang up the phone and report the incident to the Concord Police Department at 978-318-3400.
