The third quarter payments of Concord’s Fiscal Year 2017 property tax bills are due in the Treasurer-Collector’s Office at the Town House by 4:30PM on Wednesday, February 1. Taxpayers are reminded that interest at the rate of 14% per year will accrue on all overdue property tax bills from the due date until the payment is received.
The Treasurer also reminds taxpayers that postmarks ARE NOT USED to verify timely payment. State law requires that property tax payments must arrive in the Treasurer-Collector’s Office in order to be considered paid by the due date.
Taxpayers are reminded that property tax abatement applications are due in the Assessor’s Office on Wednesday, February 1. State law provides that the postmark date on an abatement application will be considered verification of timely filing if properly addressed to the assessors, first class postage prepaid, with postmarks made by the United States Postal Service.
