[ARCHIVED] Concord Police Arrest Juvenile After Threats Against High School

The Concord Police Department arrested a  Concord-Carlisle Regional High School student on Wednesday after receiving reports of threats made against the school community. A JUVENILE MALE, AGE 17, OF CONCORD was arrested and charged with:

• Crimes Against the Public Peace by Threatening to Use Deadly Weapons in a School Building (M.G.L. ch.269 §14), a felony

• Threatening to Commit a Crime, a misdemeanor

The Concord Police Department School Resource Officer responded to the high school on Wednesday after receiving a report from the principal that a student, who had just had an outburst in the classroom, was found to have written serious and specific threats against members of the school community in a notebook.

No weapons were found. The incident remains under investigation by the Concord Police Department.

The Concord Police Department takes threats against our community, our children and our schools very seriously, and I would like to praise school administrators for bringing this report to the school resource officer immediately. This was a potentially dangerous situation, but the protocols we have in place worked as designed, and no one was harmed.

The school day continued Wednesday and Thursday. Out of an abundance of caution, people may notice an increased police presence at the high school.

The suspect will be arraigned in Framingham Juvenile Court.
