[ARCHIVED] 2022 Honored Citizen Nominations Now Being Accepted

The Concord Public Ceremonies and Celebrations Committee would like to announce the opening of nominations for Concord’s 2022 Honored Citizen.

For over fifty years, the town has annually awarded a Concord resident(s) as an Honored Citizen for contributing substantial volunteer services to the community. During the year of honor, the citizen(s) is asked to join the Patriots Day Parade and participate in the town’s celebrations and ceremonies.

*The Honored Citizen ceremony and reception will be on Sunday, March 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Harvey Wheeler Center *

All are welcome to attend the ceremony, where this year’s honoree(s) will be formally recognized and given a personalized gift.  Local and state officials present citations to the honored citizen and refreshments will also be served.  In addition, the individual’s name is engraved on the Honored Citizen plaque, located in the Town House.

The Committee relies heavily upon the information supplied by Concord residents in the nomination forms. A simple statement of nomination is of little value. Nominations may be made for either an individual, or a couple. A complete biography should be supplied with reasons why the nominee(s) should be selected. Please include career and community service information. The emphasis will be placed on volunteer service, and the biography should explain this in considerable detail. Selections are made based upon the quality, rather than the quantity of nominations that are received. Petitions are not acceptable.

Nominations will be open until March 4, 2022, and should be addressed to:

Concord Public Ceremonies and Celebrations Committee
Town House - 22 Monument Square, P.O. Box 535, Concord, MA 01742.

You may also submit your nomination electronically to cpccc@concordma.gov

Nomination forms are available at the Town House or online at www.concordma.gov
