Public Forum: Discuss plans for new parkland in West Concord Village
Please consider attending a public forum on Thursday, October 14th, at 5 p.m., to see and comment on plans for new parkland at the edge of West Concord Village, adjacent to the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail and between the Assabet River and the MCI Correctional Institute. The Junction Village Open Space Task Force has been working with landscape architectural firm PLACES Associates Inc. since early this year to develop two concept plans for the 6.5 acres of future parkland space. Our goal is to create an area of passive recreation that will honor the site’s rich history while allowing users to enjoy the beautiful and scenic riverbank, mature treescape, a new pollinator meadow, public art displays and a fully accessible trail network.
