[ARCHIVED] Storm Preparedness Ahead of Henri

As Tropical Storm Henri, which may strengthen and become a hurricane, approaches the Southern New England area and Concord specifically, our Emergency Services and other Town Departments would like to remind our community of several places to find information and ways to reach out for assistance during and after the storm. We would also like to remind you to keep an eye out for your neighbors and remember that Town staff will be working around the clock during the storm to help keep things running smoothly and safely for you.

For any utility emergency, we ask that you use the following numbers:
Power outages during business hours: 978-318-3101
Power outages after hours, weekends, & holidays: 844-723-1287 (toll free)
Broadband internet outage & support: 978-318-3199
24/7 technical support help desk: 978-318-3199
Downed wires and other emergencies: 911

With this storm we expect heavy rain and possible flooding, remember do not walk, swim or drive through flood waters. Turn Around, Don't Drown! Remember, just six inches of moving water can knock you down, and one foot of moving water can sweep your vehicle away. Stay off bridges over fast-moving water.

You should assume that any downed wire is live and keep away from it. We advise calling 911 for any down wire.

We encourage everyone to make sure you are well prepared for the storm, ready.gov provides resources and preparedness tips for many types of events and disasters, the hurricane preparedness is linked here

With the possibility of high winds, securing or bringing inside outdoor furniture or other moveable objects may help keep your property safe. Consider securing outdoor trash and recycling receptables.

We want to encourage everyone to sign up for CodeRED Alerts which provide emergency notifications in the event that notification is needed. You can find directions, more information and sign up here
