[ARCHIVED] Overnight Traffic/Construction Advisory - Damon Mill Bridge

Please be advised that MassDOT’s contractor, SPS NE, will be completing overnight construction repairs to the Damon Mill Bridge on Main St over the Assabet River in Concord (between Pond Ln and Water St).  The anticipated start date is Sunday, August 4, 2019, with work hours scheduled from 8:00PM to 4:30AM, weather permitting.   Repairs are necessary at both abutments of the bridge to replace the existing steel angle joints with an asphaltic joint system to alleviate the banging noise that is occurring.  The project is scheduled to conclude on Tuesday, August 13.  Residents should be aware that the nature of these repairs require the use of construction equipment that does generate significant noise.  One lane of Main St will remain open during construction with police details assisting with traffic.  It is anticipated that the sidewalk will remain open during the repairs; however, pedestrians should use extreme caution when crossing the bridge.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.   If you have any questions, please contact Leonard Aversa, MassDOT District 4 Engineer at 781-641-8497(office), 617-686-3244(mobile), or leonard.r.aversa@state.ma.us.  During the construction, MassDOT’s Onsite Resident Engineer, Tom Gallagher, can be contacted at 978-886-3724(mobile).  MassDOT District 4 - Bridge Section can also be reached at 781-641-8300.
