Overdose Awareness Day & Recovery Month
Every year on August 31, International Overdose Awareness Day highlights the devastating impact of overdose, the lives lost to addiction, and the families and communities left behind. September then marks National Recovery Month, raising awareness about mental and substance use disorders, promoting that recovery is possible, and celebrating the accomplishments of people in recovery.
The Concord Health Division encourages you to visit an upcoming flag display outside of Middlesex Bank in downtown Concord between Aug 28th and Sept. 11th. Also encouraged is participation in any of the local events highlighted in the Great Meadows Public Health Collaborative’s regional recovery month calendar. More details can be found here.
