Protect yourself and your home from mosquitoes

As the weather warms up, it’s important to stay informed about mosquito activity and the risks of mosquito-borne illnesses like West Nile Virus (WNV) and Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE). These viruses are found in our environment and can cause serious illness in people, horses, and other animals.

Local public health officials are reminding Concord residents to continue to be vigilant and take precautions to prevent mosquito bites.

  • Avoid outside areas with obvious mosquito activity
  • Use CDC recommended insect repellant
  • Avoid being outside at dusk and dawn
  • Remove standing water where mosquitos can breed
  • Wear long sleeved shirs, long pants, and socks
  • Repair window screens- keep mosquitos out.
