Traffic/Construction Advisory – Monument Square and Lexington Road Milling and Paving – 12/15/2024 – 12/18/2024

National Grid’s paving contractor, Riley Brothers, Inc. will be conducting milling and paving operations on Monument Square and Lexington Road, between Bedford Street/Main Street and Cambridge Turnpike. Milling will commence on Sunday, December 15th, 2024, in the evening and continue into Monday, December 16th, 2024, in the morning. Paving will occur between Monday, December 16th, 2024, and Wednesday, 18th, 2024 depending on the constantly changing weather.

One-way traffic will be maintained in Monument Square during the milling and paving operation through the construction zone. Alternating Traffic will be maintained on Lexington Road, but Heywood Street will be closed while the construction zone is between Monument Square and Heywood Street.  Alternating Traffic will be maintained on Lexington Road when the construction zone is between Heywood Street and Cambridge Turnpike.

On-street parking will be prohibited during the reconstruction work. The paving contractor will be posting “No Parking” signs indicating the “no parking” restriction.

Heavy equipment will be present and operational. Access to all properties will be maintained, however, please expect delays near construction crews performing the work.
