The City of Framingham’s Wastewater Division alerted down river communities of a Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) occurring in Framingham at approximately 4:30 pm on July 30, 2024. The estimated volume of the overflow is 525,000 gallons and consists of untreated sewage and waste. The overflow affected or potentially affected the Sudbury and Concord Rivers.
Avoid contact with these water bodies for 48 hours after the discharge or overflow ceases due to increased health risks from bacteria and other pollutants. Concord Public Health will continue to be in contact with Framingham officials.
