Important Water System Notification- Concord Public Works Water Div.

On Sunday, September 11, 2016 Concord Public Works learned that that there had been an incident of unauthorized activity at one of the Town’s water storage tanks sometime after 8 AM on Friday morning. As a similar event occurred on August 1st 2016, the Concord Public Works Water Division is proceeding with an abundance of caution and the storage tank has been physically isolated from the water distribution system. The tank has had a negligible contribution to the distribution system since a routine inspection that occurred on Friday September 9th . The Town is coordinating closely with local authorities and all appropriate regulatory agencies to ensure public safety is maintained.

As the region continues to remain in a prolonged and extreme drought, all outdoor water uses such as lawn watering, filling of swimming pools, and washing of vehicles will continue to be prohibited. Your support and continued compliance with this ban will ensure that even with the reservoir off-line, we will continue to have adequate supply of water for public health and safety purposes. Fines for non-compliance of this ban will be imposed.

When additional information regarding this incident is learned, it will be provided on the Town’s website at concordma.gov or by calling our information hotline at 978-318-3249.
