Meeting Objectives
Participants will:
● Gain an overview of the purpose and history behind the project
● Receive an update on the current state of the project
● Engage in conversation with others in order to provide feedback on the strengths as well as suggestions for the project moving ahead
Committee members will:
Listen to and incorporate public feedback as the memorial project(s) moves ahead
Welcome and Introductions (5 min)
How We Got Here (20 min)
Presenter provides a brief review of the goal and purpose of the work of the Concord 250 Permanent Memorial Committee and the history behind memorial efforts over the years.
Presenter discusses research the committee has done related to current practices of 21st-century public memorials and introduces the Beyond Granite video.
Where We Are Going (15 min)
Presenter reviews ways in which feedback from various public forums has been incorporated into the initial planning leading to the Proposed Projects and the essential criteria for evaluating them
Presenter reviews Proposed Projects
Tell Us What You Think (40 min)
Facilitator organizes small group (breakout group) conversations around the questions of what are the strengths of the projects proposed and what suggestions does each group have concerning them.
After small groups discussion, the facilitator organizes a collective group report out
What’s Next (5 min)
The presenter explains the next steps with the feedback and with the project and explains how folks can stay engaged and informed.
