Public Safety Communications

Concord Public Safety Communications is a separate civilian organizational unit operating within the Concord Police Department chain of command according to the policies, procedures and guidelines of the Concord Police and Fire Departments.


Staffing & Assignments

The Communications Unit is comprised of 8 full-time Dispatchers who operate on rotating tours of 8-hour shift assignments to provide the community with 24-hour service 7 days per week.

sional Certifications & Training

All Concord Public Safety Dispatchers are certified emergency telecommunications and law enforcement data professionals trained to the standards of the:
  • Association of Public Safety Communications Professionals (APCO) International
  • Massachusetts Criminal History Systems Board
  • Massachusetts State 911 Department
  • National Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatch

Individual Additional Training

Several Dispatchers also have additional training on an individual basis as:
  • Emergency Medical Technicians
  • Firefighters
  • Paramedics
  • Reserve Police Officers
  • Tactical Communications Specialists

Emergency Notification Form

We have created a form that will be used to update all Police and Fire Department emergency databases to improve and aid services to citizens in the case of an emergency.

If you or a resident of your home has special needs or medical conditions that emergency responders should be aware of before they arrive, completing the Emergency Notification form will assist the first responders and other aid providers.
