Parks and Playgrounds

The following locations are open for use with restrictions provided by the State. 

  • Emerson Field – open
  • Emerson Playground - open *Emerson Playground and Emerson Basketball courts are closed to the public Monday-Friday 7A-4P through August 21*
  • Rideout Park – open
  • White Pond – Use at own risk. Officially open June 22nd, please see membership information here.
  • Carousel Playground – open *closed to the public Monday-Friday 7A-5P through August 21*
  • South Meadow Field – open
  • CCHS Doug White Fields – open
  • Ripley School Fields – open
  • Ripley Play Areas - open

Outdoor athletic facilities shall be open and available for organized youth and adult sports activities Indoor athletic facilities shall be open and available exclusively for the use of supervised sports programs, including sports camps, for youths under the age of 18.

Group size is limited. Programs must separate participants into groups of no more than 12 participants, including coaches and staff.

Inter-team games, scrimmages, and tournaments shall not be permitted for any organized sports activities.

Contact sports (e.g., basketball, football, baseball, soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, hockey and other sports where ordinary play puts players in direct contact or close proximity) must limit activities exclusively to no-contact drills and practices.

Town open space and park facilities are open to the public to enjoy time outside and recreate. Please remember that our parks and open spaces are for everyone and we ask that the community take care to ensure we do not need to re-close any properties due to improper use during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Masks must be worn when a distance of 6ft-10ft minimum cannot be maintained
  • No groups of more than 10 people are allowed
  • Bring your own sports equipment to be used on tennis courts, basketball courts, pickleball courts, etc
  • Do not share sports equipment with people outside of your home
  • If there is no parking, please return at another time or visit a different property. Please note, some properties parking has been limited to help with capacity during the pandemic; Violators may be ticketed.
  • Please follow posted guidelines for parks or open spaces.
  • Be respectful of others, carry out what you carry in

Look for these signs when you’re recreating at one of the Town’s Parks or Playgrounds.
