The Natural Resources Commission Seeks Your Input
Are you interested in open space conservation, historical preservation, and recreational opportunities in Concord? Come help us update the 2004 Open Space and Recreation Plan, a vision for land acquisition and recreational enhancements for Concord. We want to hear your thoughts, needs, and goals for the future of Concord’s Open Space.
On February 4, 2013, the Open Space and Recreation Plan Update Committee will hold the first of two Community Meetings at 141 Keyes Road in the first floor conference room at 7:00 PM to gather your input to help improve Concord’s open space and recreational opportunities. The plan inventories existing open space land and also identifies unprotected open lands in town that are the highest priority for open space and recreation opportunities. The plan will also look at water resources, agricultural lands, natural areas and wildlife habitats, and recreational open space.
The Commonwealth requires revision of the town’s open space and recreational plan every five years in order for the Town to qualify for potential land acquisition grants. Come advise us on how you would like funds to be allocated to protect Concord’s future. For more information please contact the Division of Natural Resources at 978.318.3285.
