2018 Parking Lot Improvements Phase I

CPW completed a condition inspection of all Town owned off street parking facilities back in 2014 to develop a plan for rehabilitation. This bid is the first phase of parking lot rehabilitations and was approved at the 2016 Annual Town Meeting. The 2018 Parking Lot Improvement Project Phase 1 includes the reclaiming and paving of three parking facilities: the east and west lots on Keyes Road, the Walden Street Lot and the Church Street Lot.
Scope of Work:
The scope of work for each of the three parking lots is listed below,
- Church Street Parking Lot- The scope of work will include the reclamation of the existing pavement, regrading, and the installation of new pavement. The parking stalls will be restriped and new signage will be installed.
- Walden Street Parking Lot- The scope of work will include the reclamation of the existing pavement, regrading, and installing new pavement. In addition to the new pavement, there will be sustainable infrastructure incorporated into the parking lot with the installation of two new bioretention areas and two new tree box filters. The project will also improve ADA access within the lot, meeting requisite number of handicapped spaces (4) and adding 2 new compliant curb ramps. There will also be landscape islands installed throughout the parking lot.
- Keyes Road Parking Lot- The scope of work will include the reclamation of the existing pavement, regrading, and the installation of new pavement. The additional work includes reconfiguring the east and west lots to improve the overall parking lot operation, incorporating sustainable infrastructure with the installation of a new bioretention area near the Mill Brook to treat approximately half of the east lot. The project will also remove invasive species between the lot and Mill Brook improving the view to the brook. The project will also improve ADA access within the lot, meeting requisite number of handicapped spaces (6) and adding 8 new compliant curb ramps.
Construction for the Church St Lot will begin the week of July 11th and is expected to take two weeks to complete. Crews will begin reconstruction of the Walden St and Keyes Rd lots the week of July 9th. The project is expected to be completed by September 3rd.Please be advised, portions of the parking lots will remain open during construction except during the tentative dates listed below.
Church St Lot
Lots will be closed June 14th & 18th
Walden St Lot
Lots will be closed July 31st, & August 2nd
The third lot closure is still scheduled for August 10th.
One side of the parking lot will be closed at any time.
